the story of the hunter.living on the planet, Talos, being an only child to 2 engineers working on a project called "New Dawn".it's main goal was to harvest a rare mineral from beneath their planets core. the further they went down, deadly toxins were released, making working environments difficult. it made Talos erupt in unnatural disasters, becoming almost uninhabitable.one day a meltdown erupted, sprouting a flash freeze throughout the whole planet, killing both of the hunters parents. their uncle, Artur, took them in and taught them the ways of the Alfather and the Old Ways - the belief system was firmly rooted in nature and rejected modern technology.as Bloodhound continued their studies with their uncle, they found that they were drawn to the technology that had been left behind from the explosion. Artur had been very firm in his standing against the new tech and would not allow the hunter to pursue their urges.it was natural for a hunter to kill a "Goliath" and inherit the title "Blóðhundr" in the Old Ways. as time grew on, a Goliath terrorized their village and Bloodhound knew what they had to do. upon investigating the nest of the beast, they found a gun that can help them with their hunt. killing the beast and returning home, only to find Artur had rejected them. furious, Bloodhound had left the village only to find the beast was still alive. they had failed in their hunt.it came straight for the village, catching the scent of the hunter. Artur came to the rescue with the generational axe, Ravens Bite. slashing the beast, Artur was hit amongst the fight with the other hunters. the fighting had stopped once the beast ran back into hiding.
by the time Bloodhound came to their uncles rescue, Artur had given them the axe, and died in their arms.the hunter knew what they had to do. tracking the beast while it was still wounded. going back to its nest and slashing at the very technology that once killed their parents. letting in toxic fumes, they quickly grabbed a mask off the floor as they watched the beast die before them.
the hunter had won their fight. but at a deep cost.as the years past, they befriended a scientist and traveler named Boone. Boone had made new tracking tech for the hunter, to aid in their hunts. they became lovers over time and Bloodhound had been using their new tech to help aid the last of their village.Boone had discovered the Thunderdome whilst traveling and sadly died to the beasts that roamed it. leaving the hunter behind with their tracking tech.Boone's death remains one of the reasons the hunter contests in the Apex Games - to win a spot for Boone and themselves in Valhalla.
after years of fighting, they had stumbled across a new Legend in the games. Walter Fitzroy, famously known as Fuse. they were hesitant and did not socialize with the Legends outside the game, but Fuse had learned their language, went on hunts with them and took them out, on occasion.Bloodhound pushed down their feelings for Fuse time and time again - they could never forgive themselves for the death of Boone.
a fateful night on a hunt lead Fuse to get them to be honest about how they felt. not only did the hunter care for Walter, but they trusted him enough to take of their helm, and is now in a new relationship.although the hunter still holds Boone deep in their heart, Bloodhounds new love and reason to fight in the game keeps them going.
